AlloDerm® Regenerative Tissue Matrix has been used effectively in patients undergoing a parotidectomy.

An innovative technique for parotidectomy repair using AlloDerm® Regenerative Tissue Matrix
AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix can be an effective tool to assist surgeons with the challenges they face in some parotidectomy procedures. It can be used as a tissue replacement and reinforcement when placed over the nerve and exposed gland, and under the skin flap.
Potential benefits of using AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix in parotidectomy applications include ready availability and ease of positioning and contouring without the longer operative times and donor-site morbidity that can be associated with the use of autologous tissue.
AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix has been used in a variety of soft-tissue repair procedures in more than one million grafts and implants to date. Animal studies have shown that it supports tissue regeneration by allowing rapid revascularization, white cell migration and cell repopulation1, which can minimize the risk of infection of the implant. Ultimately it is transformed into host tissue for a strong, natural repair. AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix is derived from natural tissue which is processed using a proprietary technique to remove the cells that can lead to tissue rejection and graft failure. The resulting acellular tissue matrix is strong, optimizing outcomes for soft-tissue repair procedures, including ENT applications, challenging hernia repair and breast reconstruction post-mastectomy.
